Prompt words are a great way to get some inspiration for writing poetry. I am a fan of the #FromOneLine prompt on Twitter, and last year, Meg, the prompt host, came up with the great idea of publishing an anthology of writings all starting with the line “If I were a house”. All proceeds of the publication are to be given to charities helping the homeless.

I have one of my own poems in this collection. I contributed my writing simply because I wanted to help keep people warm.
